The satisfaction and effects of the Senior Employment Program in rural areas

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of satisfaction and the personal and social effects of the Senior Employment Program in rural areas by job types. We carried out the survey with 212 old people participated in the Senior Employment Program (64 in public type, 103 in welfare type, and 45 in education type) in a city, Chungcheong-Nam-Do. The results of this study were as follows£º¨ç Male, higher-educated, younger, and wealthier participants were more in education type than in public and welfare type. ¨è The participants were the most satisfied with service quality of the program, while the least satisfied with income level. The participants in welfare type were more satisfied with income level, personnel, and service quality than participants in public and education type, however the participants in welfare type were more satisfied with colleagueship than participants in public type. ¨é The participants in education type appraised more highly on personal effects of the Senior Employment Program than the those in public or welfare type. ¨ê And the participants in education type appraised more highly on social effects of the Senior Employment Program than those in public or welfare type. Finally, we suggested several implications for policies of the Senior Employment Program based on these results.
